DIABETES MELLITUS: FALL IN LOVE WITH IT!

Know for sure that once diabetes has taken hold of your body, it has fallen in love with it. The natural corollary is that diabetes won’t leave your body!

Then, what do you do with such a headstrong partner?

DIABETES MELLITUS: SLOW & STEADY WINS THE RACE

The crucial moment calls for the accurate shots (diplomatic moves) at the right moment when your opponent (spouse) is at its weakest! As you sing its song, dance to its rhythm and satisfy it with your acquiescence, that’s actually the time when you can take control of it.

DIABETES: CONTROL THE MIND TO CURE IT

That’s true! Mind control is the cue!

Using this tactic, which become a habit with us, we can cure all ailments including diabetes mellitus.

DIABETES SPREADS SLOWLY BUT SURELY

Medical studies have found that diabetes is not a disease that appears overnight. One thing is for sure, though. Diabetes mellitus can be cured naturally.

The means are yoga and Ayurveda.

YOGA & AYURVEDA

Both yoga and Ayurveda are age-old time-tested means to strengthen the body through natural means.

IGNORE DIABETES MELLITUS: SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES

Obviously once you let a wound fester; it can turn cancerous with disastrous consequences for the sufferer.

DIABETES MELLITUS: A LIFE-LONG PARTNER

So is the case with the ailment, diabetes, or diabetes mellitus: Diabetes is a life-long partner.

Now, how do you adjust with your lifetime mate? Don’t you love your spouse, share time together and also take care of each other? You do.

YOU MUST CONTROL YOUR MIND, ELSE…

You can, and should manage your mind. Then, you will insulate your body against all forms of diseases. Else, you’ll become a slave of your inclinations or desires. And, know for sure such a lifestyle will land you in a soup! Your body will revolt, the naturally gifted authority to check attacks of germs and viruses will get weakened, and you will very soon be a patient. The moment you give space to such urges one blocks the logical part of the mind. On the other hand, that part of the mind is activated, which makes us feel good. That portion is the manager of all our urges.

So in the above situation, even though the mind does remain active it stays so only partially - hence we feel the pleasures. At that juncture, we fail to reason out or we simply do not like to do any serious thinking. This reasoning capability again comes to the fore once the urge is satisfied.

However, it has been found that sometimes we carry on logical exercises in our minds even as we physically indulge in the pleasurable activities. This typical situation happens when we are under stress. Tension, fatigue, and unknown apprehensions are the catalysts.

PRACTICE YOGA REGULARLY: TACKLE DIABETES SUCCESSFULLY

Yoga is a set of ancient time-proven Indian set of exercises. Yoga helps to synthesize the body of the practitioner (yogi) with his mind. The ancient Indian treatises and folk-lore bear adequate testimony to the fact that yoga can deal with all forms of attacks on the human body - both physical as well as mental. Thus, regular practicing of the mind control exercises through meditation (tapasya), deliberate breathing (pranayama) in particular moves (asanas) give us the magical power to be the masters of our minds!

The relationship between diabetes and alcohol consumption is really not clear. Different studies show improvements in insulin sensitivity and others show a decline. A lifetime drinking pattern has also been associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes.

Alcoholic beverages are made from two basic ingredients:\r

    \r\n
  • a type of sugar such as barley, malt, wheat, rice, plums, potatoes or grapes, and
  • \r\n

  • yeast

The yeast uses up the sugar source giving ethanol and gases in a fermentation process. The longer the fermentation process the drier the product. The result is sweet wines and dry wines.

1. The Effect of alcohol on your weight. Alcohol is neither a fat, or a carbohydrate but it does contain 7 calories/ 29 kilojoules per gram of fat. If you are following an exchange program alcohol is usually counted as a fat. The calories come from both the alcohol and residual sugar content.

Although your body treats the alcohol as a toxin and burns it up first, alcohol puts onto your body extra calories from dietary fat, carbohydrate and protein. Part of it gets converted by the liver to fat. The fat is deposited locally, which is where the term ‘beer belly’ comes from.

Alcohol is fattening as the body has nowhere to store alcohol. Alcohol takes top priority as a fuel source and sends other fuel (food) to storage.

2. What is a Standard Drink? alcoholic drinks contain varying amounts of sugar and alcohol and the strength of the alcohol varies greatly:\r

    \r\n
  • beer contains between 2 to 6 per cent alcohol,
  • \r\n

  • wines vary from between 8 to 14 per cent, and
  • \r\n

  • spirits between 35-40 per cent

The sugar content varies also, between 5-10 per cent for sweet wines and 20-30 per cent for liqueurs.

A standard drink is defined as being one containing 10 grams of ethanol. The common standard serving of different drinks contain between 65 to 110 calories (270-460 kilojoules}.

If you have:\r

    \r\n
  • 2 glasses of wine
  • \r\n

  • 2 nips of whiskey, or
  • \r\n

  • 2 midis of beer,

you are having two standard drinks and somewhere between 130-300 calories (544-835 kilojoules).

3. How does alcohol affect your blood sugar levels? Sometimes alcohol reduces levels too much. If you are using insulin, alcohol can make your levels go too low. The alcohol can increase the effect and paralyze the mechanism that usually brings the levels back to normal. This can be avoided by not drinking on an empty stomach and having snacks alongside your drink.

It is recommended people with diabetes have no more than one standard drink per day for females and two standard drinks for males. To use alcohol or not will be your choice. The main messages is to drink in moderation, diabetes or no diabetes.

You know sweets cause diabetes, and you strive to eliminate the diabetes complications by keeping off sweets. Do you know that sometimes life with sweet diabetes is great? Although diabetes is an awful disease which threatens the present generation, there is a deviation of thoughts attracting every one’s attention. It presumes that diabetes is not at all a serious disease to be frightened in any way. If you think well, it is not indeed a disease but a maladjusted functioning of the organs. Specifically it is either due to the inefficiency of the pancreas to generate insulin, or due to the inability to convert the glucose into energy by penetrating the blood cells.

You might have come across to hear that you shouldn’t eat sweet fruits like chickoo, strawberries and mangoes if you are a sweet diabetic, or a sweet potato diabetic. The main theme of this session is to clarify this question if one should avoid diabetes sweets at all.  It is just a myth that if you have diabetes you shouldn’t eat such sweet foods which are ‘too sweet’. No doubt, some fruits do contain more sugar than others, but it is not correct to claim that you should avoid them if you have diabetes. The variation of blood glucose levels is associated with the total intake of carbohydrates than with the choice of source of carbohydrates.

You will be surprised to hear that you have more chance to sweeten your life with sweet diabetes. Although some people are prone to artificial sweeteners diabetes, there is a research result which claims that sweet drinks do give people a sugar charge. In turn it supplies the brain with fuel required to suppress outspoken statements and opinions. This is possible from the fact that there is a close relation between glucose levels and stereotype expressions with prejudice.

The counter role is played by people with lower sugar levels. They don’t mind to use expressions of stereotypes. If they are occupied with thoughts of prejudice, they don’t hesitate to use offensive and non parliamentary statements. There is self control with those who consume glucose which is an energy source. People with lower levels of glucose do react unnecessarily, and most of the times they are in depression which is not good for health.

Another good news is that you are quite aware of your health if you have diabetes. This awareness itself prepares you for a long life, of course with a good knowledge of natural cure for diabetes. You gain sympathy of your family members, because they are happy when they learn how to live naturally without becoming a victim to diabetes.

This is What Causes Diabetes

Diabetes, a small introduction

Diabetes is a disorder in the way your body uses food for energy. The sugar, starches and other food you consume in your diet is broken down in to a simple sugar called glucose. The glucose circulates in the blood waiting to enter the cells so the body can use it for energy. The hormone made by the pancreas called insulin helps move the glucose to the cells. A healthy pancreas will adjust the amount of glucose that enters the cells. If for some reason the pancreas does not function properly then there is a release of too much blood sugar, (glucose) into the cells.

Types of diabetes

There are two main types of diabetes, 1 and 2. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body does not make insulin at all. In this type of diabetes the body’s immune system has attacked and destroyed the cells that make insulin. People with this kind of diabetes must take insulin everyday to keep their blood sugar normal. Children, teenagers and young adults are most commonly diagnosed with it, but it can also appear in older adults.

The most common form of diabetes is type 2. About 95% of people who have diabetes have this second form. Your body either does not produce enough insulin or it cannot use the insulin it makes as well as it should. This form of diabetes is normally found in adults, but there has been an increase in children. It has been associated with being overweight and being less physically active. The risk of getting Type 2 Diabetes is also higher in certain racial and ethnic groups like African Americans, Hispanic/Latinos, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. There is no cure for for this kind of diabetes, but it can be controlled through diet, being more active and losing weight.

So what is Diabetes and what causes it?

Diabetes is caused by a high and deadly level of glucose within the blood due to a malfunction of the pancreas. One of the main jobs of the pancreas is to monitor glucose levels and to remove or add it to the blood stream if it is necessary. When someone suffers diabetes it is commonly caused by this malfunction and the blood sugar level can become dangerously high and may be deadly.

There are two types of diabetes:

Type 1 is caused by the cells in the pancreas that produces insulin (hormone used to control blood sugar levels) are destroyed therefore leading to a lack of insulin to control the blood sugar which may lead it to fatal levels . It is believed to be autoimmune reaction which leads to the body attacking it’s own cells. There are no proven causes to why this happens as no claimed causes are proven.

Type 2 is when the receptors that are supposed to react to insulin and control the blood sugar levels fail to be stimulated. More and more insulin may be produced as a response to the body and this may lead to exhaustion of the cells which produce insulin within the pancreas. The cause of this may be due to the hormone insulin being abnormal and therefore the receptors cannot respond to it.

How is diabetes controlled?

Diabetes can fortunately be controlled by regular injections of human insulin to take over the job of the pancreas. The insulin will then trigger the receptors and the body will then react and control the glucose levels within the blood effectively. A low glucose diet is also recommended to people who suffer with diabetes in order to need less work from the pancreas and to be less reliant upon insulin.

Stem cell research opens a idea of a possible cure for diabetes in the future. This is done by the cells being specialized into insulin producing cells and to replace the faulty ones within the pancreas. Moral and ethical issues surround the subject but it seems possible that this research may begin and could bring a lot of possibilities to those who suffer from this disease.
