With the obesity rates rising, more and more people are developing type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is when the body does not produce enough insulin or the insulin that is produced is not used by the body. Without the proper amount of insulin your body can’t use glucose to produce energy. Glucose is the fuel for all the cells of the body and without your body can just shut down.
There are many different medical complications that one can get from not having their diabetes under control. Just some of the possible medical complications from type 2 diabetes are: heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, eye degeneration or blindness, gum disease, poor foot circulation which leads to severe foot problems and even amputations, nerve damage and depression. Although type 2 diabetes is a very serious condition, it can be kept under control with the proper lifestyle program. The American Diabetes Association helps to put out the proper information about how one can control type 2 diabetes. They constantly research ways to prevent, cure and fight diabetes.
