American Academy of Opthalmology has released a report showing that a person is at 25% increased risk of having blurred vision or losing his eyesight if he is suffering from diabetes. In the initial stages of diabetes, the blurriness in vision comes and fades away as the blood sugar levels get worse or improve. But with the passage of time high levels of blood sugar start to destruct blood vessels at the back of retina. If a person is suffering from diabetes for a longer period his chances of getting a blurry vision are also higher. A large percentage of diabetics are not aware of their medical condition because the signs of diabetes are so harmless and unnoticeable in the start that they are unable to diagnose their medical condition.

If the blood sugar is poorly controlled in the initial years, it will lead to a blurry vision and finally to complete vision loss.
