How to Get Rid of Belly Fat When You Have Type 2 Diabetes?

What do you do about belly fat when you have type 2 diabetes? Studies have shown that the more active a person is, the lower the amount of belly fat in relation to hip fat, at any weight. Of course, this does not mean that being overweight and obesity are to be recommended, but redistributing your weight through exercise is one desirable goal.
It has been said that the best kind of exercise is the kind that you will want to do every day, so find something that you like to do. If you like nature, why not go to the park and have fun seeing the plants and animals? Does any sport look like fun? Try your local parks and recreation department for the activities that are available.
Walking is a great form of activity that doesn’t require lessons, expense, or anyone else to participate. If you take up walking you won’t have to buy an exercise machine that will find its way to the garage or a yard sale within a year. Consider how many times you drive to do a short errand when you really could walk to the store for something light enough to carry. Do you usually park as close to the building as possible at work? Why not get into the habit of doing one of the best kind of exercise… walking. Walk to the drugstore or walk across the parking lot every day at work?
Maybe to make exercise work for you, it needs to be a social event. You may find it more fun to go walking with someone else or to go with to a gym class. You are much more likely to follow through if you sign up for a class… aerobics, yoga or whatever, than if you go it alone. You will actually get to your class if someone is going with you.
The other way to get rid of belly fat, of course, is by establishing a healthy diet. This is something no one likes to do, but who wants to walk around not looking their best, go around feeling tired all the time, or die early?

- set a realistic goal, which can be a nice, slow, steady loss of two pounds (one kilogram) per week
- emphasize high protein foods such as nonfat milk, beans, and soy protein. Go easy on the carbohydrates…. and fats. Have mostly low glycemic index (low-GI) carbohydrates. Sorry, sweets are out for awhile
- ladies, cut down to a thousand calories per day; gentlemen, subsist on 1500 calories per day until your weight is down to normal. Its true you are not going to feel full on that amount of food, but remember, when you feel hungry, its your body’s signal that you are burning fat.
