Keeping as regular a schedule of sleep can also help keep your blood sugar level in control. If you feel unusually sleepy or cannot keep away during the day, especially after meals address this issue with a doctor.

A big guideline regards smoking. Smoking is a huge problem with diabetes and after such a diagnosis you need to quit. There is no question that this condition will be made worse by smoking which causes problems for every organ in the body. Smoking cigarettes also makes exercise more difficult. The best you can do to feel better and return to health is to quit smoking.

The doctor will also give you information on skin and foot care diabetes guidelines. Diabetes causes changes and problems with the body’s immune system and circulation. Check for calluses, cracks, or skin problems daily. A doctor will show you pictures of what to look for and how to take care of your skin safely. Serious problems you doctor will need to know about immediately are swelling in your feet, an ulcerations, pus, toes that have turned black or drainage.

Your doctor can provide you diabetes guidelines for about every aspect of the condition you need to know about. You should arm yourself with as much as knowledge as you can about this condition.
